Spruce Hill & Cedar Park are two closely knit neighborhoods with distinct personalities in West Philadelphia. Originally the streetcar suburbs of Philadelphia the area has a much quieter, family oriented feeling than the rest of the city. Spruce Hill has stately, Victorian Queen-Anne Style homes and beautiful tree-lined streets. It is the perfect compliment to Cedar Park’s culturally diverse main drag on Baltimore Ave and its distinct Bohemian culture. These two culturally energetic communities just west of University City not only attract graduate students, immigrant residents, shop owners, but those seeking a direct trolley commute from Upenn, Drexel, CHOP (Children Hospital of Philadelphia), and Center City. With the hustle and bustle of city life, residents enjoy the calm serenity of Clark Park, which runs the largest year-round farmers market in Philadelphia.
